AstroNav | Flight 3

This is WIP, Launch is expected to be done in 08-2025 till 09-2025.

Goal

My goals are simple for flight 3. I want to confirm AstroNav behaves the way i intended it to behave. Meaning the foloowing:

  • Connection between FC (flight controller) And base station must be stable during the whole flight.
  • The parachute backup charge must fire when it detects apogee (Advances settings come later such as deployment delay).
  • Fast and stable data saving to flash.
  • Fast and stable data sending and recieving for live telementry
  • Flight state detection, Such as takeoff, apogee, landed etc

Plan

The plan is to first launch a smaller rocket with less exspeniff hardwere inside. With that rocket we will test all functionalities. Mostly the backup charge. Once all the goals are reached named above then we will launch the biger rocket.

The bigger rocket has exspeniff and brittle electronics in him. Such as a DJI ait unit o4 and a orientation controll mechanism.

The Launch platform also got some big upgrades. The old launching methode has been scrapped and renewed completly. First i used clamps to secure the rocket while it was idle. those clamps would fall off once the rocket flew from the launch platform. But that made to much friction. So i moved to a alluminium profile and some special holders mounted on the rocket that glide in de alluminium profile. This causes it to have near 0 friction.

I also did some repairs and added more LEDS on multiple places. My goal is to one day inplement
